Former WCG and ESWC UK champion Paul 'astz' McGarrity has returned to dignitas after a long stint of inactivity.
Having been a part of Team Dignitas since early 2004, Paul 'astz' McGarrity has returned to fly the UK powerhouse colours. However despite a rich and vibrant history in Unreal Tournament, the Scotsman will now be competing in the Quake Live roster, alongisde the likes of Gareth 'GaRpY' Marshall and Aaron-Anton 'VIZARI' Jones in the much anticipated season 4 of the ESL UK Pro Series.
Season 3 of the EPS UK drew to an end last week, which saw Irishman kRoNic take the victory over GaRpY in the grand final with the full five maps being played. Many questioned this seasons Quake Live turnout, as arguably only 5 'top players' were competing, and three of which dropped out before the tournament finished.
Astz is currently sitting at the top of the ESL EAS ladder despite various challenges, thus granting him qualification to the next season of Pro Series Quake Live action, bringing the dignitas QL roster to four once more, after the departure of zsx earlier in the year.
McGarrity issued the following statement on the Team Dignitas website when joining the roster:
"After a break from gaming since late 2006, I am really happy to be back playing at the top level again. Dignitas has been my home since 2004 and in the years I've been with them I've had a lot of great results in the Unreal Tournament series and I hope to achieve a lot more in a new game. Thanks to dignitas for still believing in me! YARR!"
Team Dignitas.QL is now as followed:
Gareth 'GaRpY' Marshall
Aaron-Anton 'VIZARI' Jones
Alexandre 'GoHLinK' Fouchet
Paul 'astz' McGarrity
